Superbike: Bayliss Fastest of Three Ducatis in Top Four
Troy Bayliss set the fastest time in qualifying this afternoon, lapping the Silverstone “International” track in 1:25.295. His team mate Lorenzo Lanzi (1:25.952) was second, with James Toseland (1:26.203) third and Ruben Xaus (1:26.328) fourth.
Fifth placed Troy Corser (1:26.408) was a couple of tenths faster than team mate Nori Haga (1:26.689), with Michel Fabrizio (1:26.724) seventh and Regis Laconi (1:26.847) eighth.
Supersport: Sofuoglu Breaks Into 1:27s
Kenan Sofuoglu was the only rider to break into the 1:27 bracket in this afternoon’s qualifying session, recording a 1:27.937 to take provisional pole position. His team mate Sebastien Charpentier (1:28.178) was second, with Broc Parkes (1:28.189) third and Robbin Harms (1:28.384) fourth.
Rain began to fall during the latter part of the session, so times are expected to drop tomorrow if the track stays dry.
Superstock1000: Corti on Provisional Pole
Claudio Corti has taken provisional pole position in the Superstock1000 class, with a best time of 1:28.649. Second was Niccolo Canepa (1:28.735), third was Ayrton Badovini (1:28.882) and fourth was Didier Van Keymeulen (1:28.908).
Final qualifying for all classes takes place tomorrow.
