Troy Bayliss improved the time he set in first qualifying yesterday by more than half a second to take provisional pole position with a lap of 1:39.245.
Troy Corser (1:39.386) improved by a similar amount to move into second place, ahead of yesterday’s fastest man James Toseland (1:39.603) and Ruben Xaus (1:39.567).
Lanzi, Haga, Nieto and Smrz are on the provisional second row, with Max Biaggi languishing in 12th place after a fall at the end of today’s session.
The final starting grid for tomorrow’s races will be decided in Superpole, which takes place at 16:00 CET / 15:00 BST this afternoon and will be shown live on www.WorldSBK.tv
