Toseland only SBK rider in 1:45s – Charpentier and Fujiwara split by just 0.08 in WSS – Italian riders fill top six places in STK1000
World Superbikes
James Toseland was fastest in the first official qualifying session at Monza, recording a time of 1:45.953. Second place went to fastest in free practice Nori Haga on 1:46.316, third to Karl Muggeridge (1:46.462), fourth to Regis Laconi (1:46.548) and fifth to Josh Brookes (1:46.686).
The fastest Ducati was Ruben Xaus (1:46.775) in sixth place, just ahead of Troy Bayliss (1:46.918). Max Biaggi (1:47.205) was 11th and Troy Corser (1:47.321) was 12th.
Final qualifying takes place tomorrow at 11:00 CET / 10:00 BST, with the grid positions for the fastest 16 riders decided during Superpole at 16:00 CET / 15:00 BST.
World Supersport
Sebastien Charpentier is on provisional pole for Sunday’s World Supersport race; his time of 1:50.711 was just 0.08 seconds quicker than his second placed team mate Kenan Sofuoglu on 1:50.791.
Fujiwara (1:50.866) was the only other rider in the 1:50 bracket, with Foret (1:51.098) fourth and Parkes (1:51.557) fifth. Anthony West, standing in for Kevin Curtain, was 8th with a time of 1:51.867.
Final qualifying takes place tomorrow at 13:45 CET / 12:45 BST
Superstock
The top six places on the provisional STK1000 grid have all gone to Italian riders, with Corti (1:50.158) first, Pirro (1:50.303) second, Baiocco (1:50.875) third, Dionisi (1:50.906) fourth, Dell’Omo (1:51.129) fifth and Badovini (1:510552) sixth.
Provisional pole in STK600 has gone to another Italian, Magnoni, with a time of 1:55.465.
Final qualifying for STK1000 is at 16:50 CET / 15:50 BST tomorrow, and at 12:15 CET / 11:15 BST tomorrow for STK600.
