- A few months ago, we told you all about the beautiful radio-controlled Alstare Suzuki replica designed by Japanese toy manufacturer Nikko. Recently, another toy specialist from Asia has started working on a replica of Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra’s 2006 bike. The manufacturer in question is New-Ray Toys, a Hong Kong-based company that produces a wide array of toys, including a die-cast range of cars, trucks, jets, motorbikes, racing bikes, airplanes, trains, radio remote control products and play sets of reality objects.
The products are scaled appropriately for adult collectors to enjoy and children of all ages to play with. In 2004, acknowledging the huge popularity of MotoGP and Superbike racing, New-Ray Toys started developping die-cast replica models for the likes of Yamaha, Honda and Ducati Corse. In 2006, New-Ray Toys decided to add a new team to its catalogue and chose Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra.
The 1/18 scale model was launched on January 1st and will be displayed at the forthcoming 2007 Nuremberg Toy Fair, the world's biggest toy show. It will then hit stores in March 2007 for a price, according to New-Ray Toys, between $7,99 and $9,99.
Given the huge popularity of the WSBK Championship in Europe, most models will be sold on the “Old continent”. So if you happen to live in France, Belgium, Italy, the UK, the US or Germany, the easiest way to get your hands on one of these Troy Corser or Yukio Kagayama replicas will be to go down to your local toy or department store.
