Last year, Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra and French eyewear manufacturer Parasite began their partnership. As a consequence, members of the Alstare team were seen walking around the paddock wearing glasses that looked rather unusual. Contrary to normal glasses, the Parasite frame is not designed to involve the ears and the nose: it caresses the wearer's face and gently stays on the temple, which means one hardly feels the glasses at all. Given the fruitful results of last year's collaboration, it has been decided to renew the deal between Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra and Parasite for the 2007 World Superbike Championship season. Once again, the team will be equipped with the latest Parasite models.

Recently, Parasite's management announced some other good news: the progressive French design collective has appointed Scott Lewis to the newly-created position of Executive Director. This name might not ring a bell to the average Superbike fan, but Scott Lewis is no stranger to the glasses industry. He is in fact a former international executive and commercial director of Oakley. Known for their unconventional thinking and innovative ideas, Scott Lewis and Parasite are meant for each other. It goes without saying that the Scott’s skills will benefit Parasite – and by extension Team Alstare – and allow the French company to reach a new stage in its development strategy.

As Hugo Martin, Parasite founder and Managing Director, explains, "Parasite has grown exponentially since our launch in 2002. We believe the soul of Parasite, our design language and the brand are established and ready to perform on a global stage. We are extremely excited to have Scott joining us. His commercial experience and, most importantly, his belief in the philosophy and potential of Parasite will help push the company to new levels."
