James Toseland will start tomorrow’s two World Superbike races from pole position after putting in the fastest lap of Superpole, with a time of 1:38.603.
Max Biaggi was the first rider to improve significantly on his qualifying time, his lap of 1:39.320 lifting him from 12th in qualifying to 4th on the grid. Lorenzo Lanzi was the first rider to go faster than Biaggi, his time of 1:39.226 earning him second place. Troy Bayliss lost time in the second and third sectors to finish third on 1:39.256.
Nori Haga had looked set for an impressive alp after setting a time 0.3 seconds faster than anyone else in the first sector, but he ran wide losing over 2 seconds and ended up 15th. His team Corser mate also lost time on his lap to finish 6th on 1:39.422, behind Xaus on 1:39.411.
