| So, I want to start doing stuff to my bike to improve the performance. It is a '06 Suzuki GSX-R750. I would love some suggestions on what to add and what manufacturer's you would suggest. I was thinking about getting a full exhaust system, but that is as far as I got. | |

suspension and tyres. get good tyres - what are you shod with now? suspension - set your suspension for you weight etc. before you start adding things set all the controls for you bio mechanics - that will make a huge difference for you.

| I know the susp set up is the 1 of the best things you can do. Apimp^^ helped me w/ mine a little bit and it made a big diffrence for the better so far. Ive been riding for lotsa yrs (mostly dirt) but am still on a learning curve w/ this sportbike/tarmac action. my vote is suspension setup to weight/riding style and tires ya, know..it'da been easier just to quote... |

| Kind of echoing what everyone else said, focus on handling before yo go to power.
I come from a car background, and thats what i always recemended to people then. And i find that same statement holds true for motorcycles as well.
Focus on learning the bike, and being able to ride the piss out of it, before you start looking for more power.
Honestly, with a bike like the GSX-R 750, you should never outgrow the power curve and potential of that bike. You can oly perfect teh ways to drive it.
Its like these kids that buy WRX's and instantly want power without knowing how to handle it. My friend wanted to tear up his STi with new engine parts and new suspension. I said, dude, you havent even driven the car yet to knwo what its capable of, your a fool for wanting to tear it up before you even understand how it works dynamicly.
I drove him down a local backroad, let him drive through it, and then i drove through it in about haf the time that he did. When he got outof the car his knees where shaking, and he could hardly talk. I told him "when you can do that, THEN you can start looking for power adders and suspension mods, untill you understand the car dynamicly, all your doing is jacking yourself off."
He boughtt he shit anyway. And now all he does is complain that it hurts his back now to drive long distances, and his check engine light is always on, and his car wont idle for shit.
Yes hes a moron, and no i dont have any pitty for him.

| Thanks everyone. I am not quite going for power, but it is my bike and I feel like doing something a little more then stock. But I agree with learning the bike. - andie wrote:

I won't take that bike to the track at all. I plan on selling my cruiser and getting a use 600 or something along those lines as a toy that I won't worry as much about. A bike to learn on.

| Probably a good idea, I put my 750 down twice at the track when it was my street bike...now it's my race bike. Have you ever been to the track? | |
