This pisses me off - Nicky Hayden

Ok this crap is ridiculous. In my gut I just KNEW Nicky was going to get hurt at that stupid X Games competition.

Why the hell a GP rider (that is hurting/sucking this year) would risk his GP career by riding in one off, meaningless race is beyond me. Ok, so something like Suzuka 8 hours is one thing, but the X Games!?!?

What a waste. I bet Honda and his team are somewhat pissed. Or am I missing something and Honda wanted him to ride?

I just don't get it. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

NICKY HAYDEN TO MISS CZECH GP

Repsol Honda rider Nicky Hayden will miss this weekend's Czech Grand Prix due to a foot injury sustained during a Supermoto event at the X Games in Los Angeles on August 1. The 2006 MotoGP World Champion injured his right foot when he landed heavily from a jump.

Following the incident Hayden visited eminent orthopaedic surgeon Dr Arthur Ting and sought the opinion of other specialists who finally advised (yesterday afternoon, US time) that he should rest the injury to avoid further complications and return at the San Marino GP at the end of the month. The damage is to the calcaneus, or heel area, of the foot.
"The injury is to a weight-bearing part of the foot and the doctors say that using too much pressure on the 'pegs could very easily give me some big problems," says Hayden who was riding a Honda CRF450 Supermoto bike and didn't crash in the incident.

"I went to Dr Ting and got the opinion of other specialists. I've done a lot with Ting, he knows the sport very well and he feels it would be quite risky to ride. He and the other specialists say that if I rode this week I might have to fight the injury for the rest of the year.
"As hard a decision as it is and as bad as I feel about it, I think I'm better off staying home doing rehab and physio, then come back fit at Misano and try to finish the season strong. There's been a lot of guys this year trying to ride less than a hundred per cent and actually making their problems worse.

"I certainly feel bad about it for my team and I apologise. I had the permission of HRC to do the Supermoto thing. I just wanted to do some riding during the break, have some fun and I thought that maybe it'd give me a little spark for the rest of the season, but it backfired on me."

I would guess Nicky's job is to get media coverage for Honda. Riding on any Honda. Honda would be pissed if he hurt himself on a Gas Gas or KTM or something, but they received airtime during the Xgames. I'm just pissed they haven't fired him for lack of performance. He isn't the quality rider that Honda needs to portray in any sort of racing above national level. He isn't world quality.

Nicky won the damn MotoGP Championship!! Argue all you want about the number of races he won, etc...but the fact remains.

There are MANY riders that have been in GP for a long time that haven't done shit, and you bag on a guy that won the championship 2 years ago?

Might be worth noting that the other riders that have been hanging around in MotoGP haven't exactly had an opportunity like Hayden. Meaning, they haven't been paid stuipd amounts of money to ride a full works bike.

He didn't win the title, it was handed to him. Enough other riders had bad seasons at the same time that he had his best ever. Honda bought the number one plate for him. Did you even watch the 06 season? He didn't earn shit. The points system needs to change. The way it is, a consistant loser can win the title while a champion can toss away a race or two and get lost in the field with the "B" teams.

Nicky Hayden does not belong in MotoGP or any other world championship racing series. I bet if he came back to the AMA, his little brother RL would kick him in the cunt on the racetrack and he sucks, too.

nicky has no charm. his riding is, at best, laughable/ridiculous. but he won a gp, he has shown he can bounce. he can't adjust as fast as he would like to, thanks to the team and unfavorable situations, but he is better than the other americans. he
just hasn't improved of late. altho i colin better, what'd he do? and he's a friggin veteran. hopper was such a let-down. he was a shame. it's a miracle he hasn't perished for all the mistakes he had on field.
he is struggling and bouncing up whenever he has the chance.. if america has to be embarrassed, i'd rather pick hayden.

It's the flaw in the points system that I blame. When a guy can win half or better of the races in a season and not afford a DNF or two, it doesn't even pay to try to win a race at all.

It isn't Nicky that I don't like, it's the way he finishes his races. He usually qualifies pretty well and starts the race running up toward the front. Then he quits trying. Slower, less talented riders come up and confront him on one or two corners and he lets them by without fighting (watch Laguna '08).

RL Hayden won a championship in a class that has virtually no competition, how could he not win? It's that same thing that got Aaron Yates his title in the 750 SuperStock class.

Doug Chandler won two titles in SuperBike without a single win in either of the 97-98 seasons. WTF?!?! These guys are racing, not gunning for middle of the road finishes. They need to go for the WIN.

That is my problem with Nicky. He doesn't care to win, when he does, he cries like an infant in a shitty diaper.
