Donington Park: Superbike Race 1 - Summary

James Toseland has won Superbike Race 1 at Donington Park after Troy Bayliss crashed out of the race while leading on lap 4.

Troy Corser was second after starting 8th on the grid and picking his way through the field in the opening laps. Biaggi made his way to 3rd place after putting on a charge in the second half of the race and threatening to catch Corser. Haga was fourth, Lanzi was fifth after Xaus crashed on the penultimate lap and Nieto was sixth.

Bayliss has been taken to hospital with an injured hand and is expected to miss race 2.
