- The withdraw of Ilmor GP from this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix has reduced the MotoGP entry list to just 19 riders, but that will increase to 20 at Jerez with the reappearance of Suzuki wild-card Kousuke Akiyoshi.
"I am very happy to have the chance to race at Jerez," said the Japanese. "I did my first GP in Japan last year, but this will be something very different to that. I want to perform well and make sure that I can get a good result."
Akiyoshi is the first scheduled premier-class wild-card of the 2007 season and will join GSV-R regulars John Hopkins and Chris Vermeulen for the second round of the championship.
Meanwhile, the 250cc race will see three wild-cards - including class veteran Alex Debon, riding an official Aprilia - while three Spaniards and one Italian will join the 125cc ranks.
